All authentication data captured by Keyring is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your data on any external servers.

Keyring is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how our Chrome extension handles your data when you use it to capture authentication state for your personal AI agents.
02 Information We Collect
The extension captures the following data from websites you visit:
- Cookies — HTTP cookies used by websites for authentication and session management
- LocalStorage — Browser localStorage data containing authentication tokens and session information
- Website Origins — The domain names of websites you choose to capture authentication data from
03 How We Use Your Information
The captured data is used exclusively for:
- Storing your authentication state locally on your device
- Allowing your personal AI agents and automation tools to access websites on your behalf
- Enabling browser automation with your existing login sessions
04 Data Storage and Location
All data is stored locally on your device:
- Captured authentication data is stored in
~/.keyring/storage-state.json
- Extension preferences (whitelist, blacklist, mode) are stored in Chrome's local storage
- Data never leaves your computer
- No data is transmitted to external servers or third parties

We do not share your data with anyone:
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your data
- We do not share your data with third parties
- We do not use your data for advertising
- We do not transmit your data over the internet
06 Data Security

07 Your Choices and Controls
You have complete control over the extension's behavior:
- Whitelist mode — Only capture data from websites you explicitly select
- Global mode — Capture from all sites with the option to exclude specific sites
- Stop capture — Stop capturing at any time with one click
- Delete data — Manually delete the local storage file at any time
- Uninstall — Remove the extension to stop all data capture
08 Third-Party Services
This extension does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or external APIs. All processing happens locally within your browser and the native messaging host on your device.
09 Children's Privacy
This extension is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
10 Your Rights
- Access — View all data stored by the extension in the local file
- Deletion — Delete the local storage file at any time
- Portability — Export your data from the local storage file
- Withdrawal — Uninstall the extension or stop capturing at any time
11 Data Retention
Authentication data is stored locally until you choose to delete it. You can delete the data at any time by removing the file at ~/.keyring/storage-state.json or by uninstalling the extension.
